Gavin's 4th Birthday - Part 2

This is a back dated post.

This is going to be the first party after we have shifted into our new house, so hubby and I decided to arrange a BBQ party at home to celebrate Gavin’s 4th birthday with all the family members.
And it’s also for the first time, all the 姑姐(aunties) and 叔叔(uncle) from hubby’s first mother side joint in together for a family gathering with us. Oh ya, not to forget to mention about the 2 cousins of Gavin, 表哥and表姐.
Today is really a super busy day for me. First I need to rush my work and leave the office to pick up the first cake before 11.30am to reach at school by 12pm. After the cake cutting celebration at school, I need to rush to Suchan Deli to pick up the delicious tiramisu cake which I ordered for Gavin before 2.30pm. Eventually I sent Gavin back home with the cake then I rushed back to office to continue some work until 6pm I got to pick up the vegetarian dishes which I specially ordered for Gavin's uncle (叔叔) and the two cousins, so I finally got home at 6.30pm getting ready for the BBQ party.
After all, its just a simple party that I can arrange for Gavin for his 4th Birthday. I hope that he feel happy on his special day with all the family members accompanying him and ofcourse all the presents that he received surely will keep him uplifted! But most importantly, I hope that Gavin is always filled with joy and happiness and be healthy all the times!

The cake with Gavin’s favourite cars! But I was quite disappointed with the cartoon images that the baker drawn for me because the drawing was not good at all and that cost me RM15 only for the drawing!!

Gavin mainly ate the car wheels which were being decorated along the side of the cake!




First thing in the next morning, Gavin rushed to the playroom for his birthday presents especially those new cars that he got, he’s really a big fan of cars!!

Gavin’s 4th Birthday – Part 1

This is a backdated post.

Gavin turned 4 years old on 31st January 2007.

I am always longing to celebrate Gavin’s birthday with his friends and this year Gavin can have a special birthday because he meet his first group of friends since he started schooling in Sunbeam kindergarten in November 2006 so he can celebrate his birthday with his friends for the first time.

I didn’t really planned and arranged anything special for Gavin to celebrate at school but I just bought a cake to school and took quite a few pictures for him.



First, Gavin and all of his friends were taking their lunch as usual and we need to wait for everybody to finish their meal before the cake cutting session. Most of them were very slow to finish because they don’t really like rice but luckily Gavin is always the first one to finish his meal at school so he had to wait for a while.



Finally, everyone was getting ready for Gavin’s cake.



By looking at their expression you sure know that cake is one of the favorite food among kids at least the teachers need not to chase after them and force them to finish the cake as they are taking rice and all of them took two serving of cakes!

Masterpiece

Gavin really likes to draw nowadays, he can sit down to draw for a long time and his favourites are cars and figures. One thing that I really fancy his drawing is he likes to draw me, haha!
Gavin started his school break on last friday and he has been spending his morning time at drawing while sitting on his potty for big business before I went to work. When I returned home after a late dinner the same night, I was so surprised to see that my fridge has been fully covered with new 'images'....My son's masterpieces being presented in Gavin Q's style! cool?! let's take a look...

I love to ask him about his drawings, his answers and explanation are always full of surprises!!

Now, I'm sitting in front of my laptop and decided to update the second post in my blog immediately after such a long period of M-I-A because today (actually was yersteday night - 23th May 2007), Brandon started to walk finally after our long waited of 13 months 3 weeks and 4 days!
Eventually, he dare to move his first step independently and he is very daring as compared to Gavin although Gavin started to walk at 12 months+ because Brandon is not afraid of falling at all and he can actually continue the attempt to walk several times even he's not very steady yet and keep falling after walking a few steps.
Anyway, Bravo to you, Brandon! And mummy is very happy today and is certainly going to enjoy the freedom of not carrying you in my arm too long anymore!!

I'm lousy in blogging!

I started to blog after reading many mommies interesting blogs and feel very excited about the idea. So I created this blog for the purpose of recording the wonderful and precious moments of my two boys' growing stories hoping that this will be a great present for them in future so that they can recall all their old stories when they have grown up later...but being a lazy mum of me and also always been so busy at work, I didnt manage to maintain and update the special stories of my boys onto my blog and have been feeling bad of not being able to persist in my initial intention...I missed to update Brandon's first teething, first birthday, Gavin's first mother's day card to me etc etc...
Today, I have a good mood to re-start my blogging engine, let me pray hard that I can really keep this blogging mood going on so that I wont miss to update any special stories of my boys too much and at the same time also hoping that I can update some important stories as backdated posts as soon as possible!
My boys, I hope that in future when both of you are reading this blog, you guys will really appreciate the effort that mummy is dying hard to keep up, ok?!

大妈

一月十五日，我与Raymond接到一个坏消息，洁儿说大妈快不行了要我们尽快赶到医院去。在未接到坏消息前，我们原本就打算当天要去探望大妈，因为我们已经有一星期没见大妈了，但是我们万万都没料到她的健康状况会骤然恶化，大妈体内的癌细胞扩散得太快了。
当我们到了医院，看到了家婆与洁儿眼红红的坐在房外；再往房里面走，看到Ah Boy, Ah Nee, June 和两个外甥围在床边伤心的哭着，而大妈就躺在床上以她那所剩无几的力气努力的维持着呼吸。见到大妈那奄奄一息的情况，我的心都已经碎了，心想为什么事情会突然间变成这样呢？大妈是一个大好人，为何这样的事情会发生呢？我当时唯有不知所措的哭着望着大妈，好后悔没早点来探望大妈多几次也好自责来不及实现买有机粥给大妈享用的承诺，真的觉得自己好没用！当Simon及大嫂一赶到，没多久后，大妈也渐渐的停止了呼吸，她真的走了！
大妈离开了，理所当然的大家都很伤心及不舍得，但是很欣慰的六个孩子们都非常的合作及团结，完全没有分辨过当中三个孩子不是大妈亲身的，大家就在举殡的三天内很和睦及团结的为大妈妥当的办理身后事。
时至今日，每次回忆起大妈的时候，我都觉得她很美，是由内至外的美，因为大妈确实是个心地善良的大好人，自从Raymond的父亲去世后，大妈就从不计较也不偏心的从小照顾Raymond两兄弟直到长大。大妈那么无私的大爱，很可惜的在她生前，我们没尽量的好好报答她，而今我与Raymond唯有警惕自己要常在祷告中纪念她，就当着是我们对她永远的报答也是我们唯一可以及应该办的。大妈，你一路走好，愿神与你同在！

Gavin's drawing

Gavin really loves to sing, read and draw nowadays and I was surprise to see one of his drawing (actually its just a scribble) on the coffee table coincidence a few days back.
He drew a boy, according to his explanation and this is how it looks like as below.....

A - Two eyes
B - Two ears
C - Two hands
D - Two legs
E - 'One' (??) hair
F - One mouth

When I ask him where's the nose then he went 'oops, sorry!' and he added.....

G - One nose

When I ask him again about the two 'out-of-topic' items, he explained......

H - Smoke
I - Orange

I laughed like mad after listening to his explanation, he's really creative and truly have a sense of funny imagination! LOL!

Whenever I recall this piece of drawing, it really keep me smiling away, so innocent!

But I just cant make out why is the smoke and orange got to do with a boy, LOL!

p/s - Luckily I snapped this piece of 'masterpiece' using my camera before I lost it, I should have scanned the drawing earlier, sigh!
